About the Beaver Island Irish Heritage Group
The Beaver Island Irish Heritage Group (BIIHG) aims to present authentic and varied educational activities to recognize, showcase and preserve Beaver Island’s unique Irish Heritage including its connection to Arranmore Island, County Donegal, Ireland. The BIIHG conducts year-round programming and activities, including the St. Brigid’s Day Imbolc, the Currach Club, and of course, the annual Emerald Isle Irish Féile.
The Féile was started in 2019 and has grown in both numbers and quality in the last five years. This event is co-sponsored by the Beaver Island Chamber of Commerce and participating private businesses on Beaver Island. The event is a collaboration between the Beaver Island Chamber of Commerce, the Beaver Island Community School, and the Beaver Island Historical Society. The Irish Féile is a showcase of the unique Irish heritage of Beaver Island, also known as America’s Emerald Isle. The First Annual Irish Festival featured Irish music, activities, and history related to the settlement of Beaver Island. The 2025 Féile is slated to bring even more fun for Islanders and visitors alike. We hope you can join us!
