Description
The BIC Center is the first location visited by many visitors to the island. It provides information about island activities and businesses (and serves home to the Island’s Chamber of Commerce office). It is filled with activities year around (including opportunities for exercise, movies, community meetings, COA events and meals and much more). From late spring through the fall, the BIC Center Theater is home to more live music and theater productions than any other location on the island. The outstanding acoustics of its performance space combined with a full suite of lighting and sound capabilities allows performers to make the most of their appearances on the island. It also serves as home to the island’s FM radio station. WVBI provides news an entertainment programming with an island focus. It operates 24×7 every day of the year with an all volunteer staff.
The Preservation Association of Beaver Island (PABI) operates the BIC Center and WVBI on donations provided by those with an interest in supporting its mission. and without any mils from island taxpayers.
