About the Speaker:

Dr. Francesca Cuthbert’s current research focuses in three areas: (1) recovery of the endangered Great Lakes Piping Plover population, all within the context of management of coastal shore ecosystems; (2) biology and management of Double-crested Cormorants in North America especially in relation to the cormorant-fishery conflict; and (3) colonial waterbird population dynamics and conservation in the Great Lakes and Asia.

About events in the BIC Center Theater:

Safety Requirements. All events at the BIC Center will comply with COVID-19 safety requirements mandated by state and local authorities in effect at the time of the event.  Click here for current details. If necessary events may be moved to an outside location, postponed or canceled. Please understand that our first concern is the safety of our guests, performers and staff.

Special Accommodations.  The BIC Center Theater is equipped with a T-Coil assistive hearing system.  If you use hearing aids that are T-Coil capable, check with your audiologist about activating the that technology to provide hearing assistance in the BIC Center Theater.  If not, BIC Center provided headsets may be used with the system.  Just ask at the front desk.  If you need other accommodations to attend the event, please check with the BIC Center front desk at least 48 hours in advance so that we are able to determine if we will be able to meet your needs.  The BIC Center Theater is wheel chair accessible.

About the Birding Trail and the BIA:

The Beaver Island Birding Trail and Warblers on the Water events are projects of the Beaver Island Association. BIA is a volunteer organization that works to assure the environmental and economic sustainability of Beaver Island.
